Five Minute Friday: Doubt

Sep 25, 2015

Doubt.

This has been a season of overcoming doubt. I have always wanted to write as a career. I recently found my goals and dreams from when I was 17, almost 20 years ago, and on that list near the top was writing and teaching. I have been doing both since I was a little girl. I “wrote” my first book before I could even write. It was a story about Micky and Mini Mouse dictated to my mom. Then every summer for years I would set up a “school” for my little sister and we would play school all summer with me teaching her what I had just learned.

These two things are integral to who I am. So much so that I’ve been a writing teach for a university for the past 7 almost 8 years. But I’ve never taken the risk on myself and fought to overcome doubt until now.

A month ago I began a course called Tribe Writes with Jeff Goins (check it out! so good!) to overcome my doubt and learn the tools needed to make writing a full time career. In the past month, I have grown and streached in this areas like I haven’t in years! My main website overacup.org has found its voice and focus….and I’m excited about what the next year holds.

I’m going to begin participating in Five Minute Friday over on Kate’s blog to give myself a little break from my regular writing. If you’d like to read more posts on the word doubt, come join us there. We’d love to have you!

Do you find it hard to study the Bible?

It doesn’t have to be.

Let me help you learn a technique for studying that makes it simple. Join me as we study one chapter each week and memorize two verses of scripture each month.

You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.
