Five Minute Friday ~ Family

Oct 2, 2015

Family.

Family can have so many different meanings. Growing up family was not a good word. From the time I was five, I wanted to be 18 so I could leave my family and be “big.” Luckily, 18 was my first year away at college and lived up to my 5 yr old self’s dreams.

Now that I’m 35 family is a good thing. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my family. Both biological and friends. We are currently in a hard season of my husband traveling for work a lot. Without my family there to support me, life would be so much harder. It’s not even that I call on them for help all that much, it’s just the security of knowing they’re there.

That’s what family really is. A group of people who are there for each other. Who show up to rejoice in the good times and to hold you in the hard times. The ones you know if you call and say, “I need help,” they will be there in minutes. That’s true family. That support system. I’m so thankful for mine!

I’m going to begin participating in Five Minute Friday over on Kate’s blog to give myself a little break from my regular writing on overacup.org.  Five Minute Friday is writing for five minutes no stopping no editing. If you’d like to read more posts on the word Family, come join us on Kate’s blog. We’d love to have you!

Do you find it hard to study the Bible?

It doesn’t have to be.

Let me help you learn a technique for studying that makes it simple. Join me as we study one chapter each week and memorize two verses of scripture each month.

You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.
