ENJOY

When I think of enjoy, I think of how I get to enjoy my boys’ company right now. Before, when I was a stay at home mom, I honestly didn’t enjoy them very much. The thought of trying to get a break–even for 5 min!–was my constant companion.

Now that I actually have time to miss them, the time I do have with them is precious. Each day I rush home to them. They are not even most of the time well-behaved. What boys are at 6, 5, and 2? But they are my boys, and I enjoy their laughter, their hugs, they’re vying for my attention, even when it ends in fights.

It’s not that I enjoy the fights, but now I realize fleetingting this time really is. Each day I catch a glimpse of forever. When they will walk out that door and not come back in at 5 o’clock. When another girl will be the one they rush to with their stories. When another will share their hugs…

O’ I will always be Mom, but while I have it, I will enjoy this precious time with them. Because one day I’ll have my house back, my quiet back, but I won’t always have my boys back–and for now I will do my best to enjoy every minute of it.

I’m going to begin participating in Five Minute Friday over on Kate’s blog to give myself a little break from my regular writing on overacup.org.  Five Minute Friday is writing for five minutes, one word, no stopping no editing. If you’d like to read more posts on the word for this week , come join us on Kate’s blog. We’d love to have you!

Do you find it hard to study the Bible?

It doesn’t have to be.

Let me help you learn a technique for studying that makes it simple. Join me as we study one chapter each week and memorize two verses of scripture each month.

You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.
