Blessings

“Count your many blessings name them one by one…”

There are so many blessings to count if I will only look for them.

A few years ago I heard that Oprah, of all people, started each day by writing out three things she was thankful for, so I began to do it myself. It’s amazing what looking for just a few things to be thankful for can do to your attitude, even on the hardest days.

Today, I am blessed…

…with three energetic boys who keep me on my knees.

…with a husband who loves me to the moon and back.

…with a job that I love.

…with friends whom I can depend on.

…with a family who love me and live close.

…with enough.

…with a quiet time place to sit at that makes my heart sing.

..with a gentle rain this morning in June in Oklahoma.

…with watermelon plants just beginning to sprout.

…with warm coffee on my desk.

This post is written from a prompt in the Five Minute Friday community. Every Friday Christian writers join together to write for five minutes, no editing, on one prompt. Come join us at FiveMinuteFriday.com. We’d love to have you!

Do you find it hard to study the Bible?

It doesn’t have to be.

Let me help you learn a technique for studying that makes it simple. Join me as we study one chapter each week and memorize two verses of scripture each month.

You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.
