Sacred Pathways for Kids

Sacred Pathways for kids helps parents and leaders to go beyond Bible reading and quiet time to help their kids connect to Jesus in ways that are engaging, fun, and speak to their hearts. It will give you the confidence you need to help your children begin building a lifetime of faith.

Helping Your Kids Build a Lasting Relationship with God

You want to help your children build a relationship with Jesus, but they don’t seem interested. You pull out the Bible to read to them, and they fidget and talk all the way through the story. You want to help them grow in their faith, but you’re just not sure how or can’t find the time.

Helping our kids build a faith that will last a lifetime is a goal we all have. It can seem an impossible goal, though, with so many things calling for their time and attention. How do we help them not just memorize the rules but build a relationship with Jesus?

What are Sacred Pathways?

Sacred Pathways are our children’s “love language” with God. They are how they best connect to God in the special way he made them. Your child may be: traditionalist, naturalist, sensate, caregiver, activist, intellectual, enthusiast, ascetic, and contemplative. They will most likely be several!

In the book, we have a quiz to help you learn which pathways help your child best relate to God.

Learning my sons’ Sacred Pathways and applying them to our Bible study and throughout our days has helped them see Jesus as someone they can relate to and not just one more adult giving them rules.

The ideas shared in Sacred Pathways for Kids helped me to do that. In the book you’ll find the quiz to help you discover your child’s Sacred Pathways, explanations of each pathway and how they connect to the Bible, and activities and resources to help you get started.

The Book

Sacred Pathways for Kids will help you:

  • Discover your child’s Sacred Pathways
  • Explain each of the pathways so you can help your child build a relationship with Jesus
  • Connect each pathway to familiar Bible stories and verses
  • Save you time through activities that are quick and easy
  • Give you many resources to help you dig deeper
Deut. 6:6-9

“Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

These verses talk about how we’re to share God with our children not just one time a day during “quiet time” but to bring him into every aspect of our lives. When we know our kids’ Sacred Pathways, we are better equipped to talk about Jesus throughout our days.

Finding time to help our children build a relationship with Jesus can seem overwhelming with our to-do list. Sacred Pathways for Kids gives you many activities that only take a few minutes with very little prep. It also teaches you how to start those conversations with your children to help you talk about Jesus throughout your day.

My kids are so different! It’s refreshing to find a book that addresses their unique differences when it comes to teaching them about God. A one-size-fits-all approach to family devotions doesn’t always reach each of their hearts in the same way. Reading Sacred Pathways for Kids gave me a fresh perspective on helping my children engage with God.

My kids are a lot like me…but also a lot NOT like me. It can be hard to help them develop their unique tendencies when you’re not aware of them…and so I started to set out to see how I could help them know God better, using their gifts, talents, tendencies, and preferences. Sacred Pathways For Kids has been an awesome resource that is helping me do just that.

I have three sons who are your typical energetic, wiggly boys. For years I struggled to figure out how to help each of them build a relationship with Jesus. They were all so different!

Finally, I discovered that when I was a student of my children and paid attention to how they best related to God, my sons were more interested in Jesus. These ways of relating are their Sacred Pathways.

One of my sons loves to connect to God through nature, so when we read the Bible, I look for ways to draw out that pathway and help him see the Bible through that lens. When I do, he’s much more interested and engaged in the story and even remembers what we talked about later.

Help Your Child Connect to Christ Today

There is no way to guarantee that your child will grow up to be a Christian.

However, when we are intentional and help them connect with God in those ways that speak to their heart, we give them a much better chance of developing a faith that will last a lifetime.
