My mother once told me something that goes along with my last post. She said, when we were little, she saw it as her job to teach us how to release her hand and to take hold of God’s. So, not only is it my job to learn how to become one with God, but I also need to teach Ethan that as we become less and less one, and he grows independent of me, he can transfer that dependence and trust to God. He never has to rely solely on his own steam, he can always trust someone.
What a comforting thought that I can rely on and trust God as much as Ethan does me, and in the future, he can learn to do the same. If I trusted God like Ethan does me and took to heart the end of Matthew 6, how much less stressful would my life be? How much less stressful would your life be?
