God’s timing

Feb 1, 2012

Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark! At night I’m immersed in the light!” It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you. (Psalms 139:11-12, MSG)

Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God. (Isaiah 50:10, ESV)

In the morning sunshine bright, in the dark when I can’t see, anytime or anyplace, God always goes with me! (Pray and Play Bible, pg. 7)

I find these verses and thoughts so reassuring. Right now my life reads like a chose-your-own-adventure novel (remember those as a kid?). There are so many possible paths laid out before us, and God is not forthcoming with directions. I feel like I’m sitting in the dark.

Thank goodness I know the one whose not intimidated by the dark. Darkness and light are all the same. He knows where he’s leading, and even though to me it feels like this is the bottom of the ninth, when He does come through, I’ll see He was always right on time.
