Favs: The Busy Mom’s Bible

May 25, 2012

Here are some of my favorite things I ran across this week…

1. I love this blog post by Kari Patterson over at Sacred Mundane called, “When you feel the tug of war inside.” One of my favorite thoughts in it is: We don’t fight sin by focusing on it, we fight sin by replacing it with something of superior value.” If you’re looking for some encouragement for fighting sin today, go over and check it out.

2. I also really needed to hear this post this week by Lysa TerKerst called “There’s No Way.” If what God is calling to you to today seems impossible, I think you’ll find Lysa’s words encouraging. I sure did.

3. While browsing my local Christian bookstore this week, I came across a Bible called The Busy Mom’s Bible. What really stood out to me about this Bible was it’s 52 devotions. They are divided up by 1 min, 5 min, and 10 min. So if you only have a minute, do the first part, but if you have more time, you can do a little more in depth study on the topic.

I especially love, that there is very little “man” and a lot of God in these. The 1 min. part is a very short devotional, the 5 min. reflect and pray thought, and the 10 min part directs you to verses for further thought. Love it! So if you’re in the market for a Bible right now, I would definitely check this one out.

Hope you have a great weekend!

God Bless,
t.
