Today I thought I’d participate in The Gypsy Mama’s five minute free write. So here’s my five minutes on See…
“Taste and see that the Lord is good….” (Psalms 34:4) This thought is so hard for me to put into practice! There are many times that I don’t see. Sure I’ve seen big time in the past when He was good, and there are specific daily little things where I can see His hand, but it is so hard to trust when you don’t see Him working where you want to see Him working. What about here, God? I ask. I see you here and here and here, but what about here? Why are you so silent? Why aren’t you moving, at least in ways I can SEE.
But that’s just it, isn’t it? We need to trust even when we don’t see. Faith is believing even when we can’t see. “The assurance of things hoped for the conviction of things not seen.” (Heb. 11:1)
Trusting when I can’t see is SO hard! I want to see Him move mountains HERE not over there. But maybe that’s it, too. Those mountains need to move. The ones inside my heart need to move before these physical mountains in front of me move. He’s working where I can’t see, before he’ll work where I can. Hummmm…..
So true. That last paragraph says so much. The unseen movement is what brings about the manifestation of God’s perfect answer in our lives. He also tells us to not look at the temporary, but to look at the eternal. So hard sometimes!
