Fiction Firday ~ Friends

Apr 26, 2013

Friends…

“…The people over there need me. My friends there need me. One little girl I worked with my first week in Romania had disappeared when I came back a few weeks later. Her brother didn’t know what had happened to her.”

“But why you?” Will asked, “Aren’t there people already helping?”

“Not enough, Will.”

Sarah’s mother walked back in the door carrying an armful of roses and laid them on the counter.

“You’re okay with Sarah doing this, Maggie?”

“Yes, I am, Will.”

“And she told you everything?”

“Sarah?” Maggie looked over at her raising her eyebrows.

Sarah fiddled with the cup between her hands. “Mom, I’m not just going to Romania to help orphans. I’m going there to find my friend.”

I’m using the Gypsy Mama’s Friday prompts to get me started. Every Friday writers join together at LisaJoBaker.com for Five Minute Friday. One word, five minutes, no editing, and no back tracking. Come join the fun!
