Majoring in Our Children, Part 1

Sep 12, 2012

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. ~ Psalms 127:3-4

You know when God tells you something four times in one day, you should probably take note and listen. Recently, He did just that. Through blogs and readings, He’s been encouraging me to take this time to focus on my children. Before I rush off to be well versed in any number of interesting topics or theological discussions, He’s challenging me to really get to know these little boys he’s placed in my life.

I’m being reminded that right now, Ethan and Liam are my career. I don’t say that to mean I need to be so focused on my children over the next 25 years that I lose myself. Instead, I mean that before I rush off and affix my learning goals elsewhere, I need to begin with my sons. It does me no good to succeed in life somewhere else, if I’m have not first done all I can to be successful in my family.

Please join me each Wednesday for the next four weeks on this journey of discovery. Join me in learning how to first major in our children.
