Moleskine Ruled Notebook Large
Amazon.com

So you’ve started trying to keep a daily date with God. You’re showing up for your quite time most days. So what do you do with these ideas you’re learning? Where do you write down your prayers, so you can look back and see how God is working days, months, and years from now?

Really any old notebook or journal will do. I have used scores of different ones over the years. But I have to say my favorite has to be the Classic Large ruled journal by Moleskine.

My favorite thing about this journal is that it doesn’t change. I hate change. I like to walk into a store and walk out with the item I was looking for. I want to be able to do this time and time again over many years. That’s what I like most about Moleskine. They don’t change products on you. When something is working they keep it. They have really expanded their line over the last decade, but the classics have remained the same. So every time I fill up a journal, I can get another one exactly like it.

I also like that I can personalize this journal any way I want to. They have colors and styles other than black, but I can take the classic black and decorate it or design it to fit my needs. For instance, I could put fabric on it, use stencils, draw on it, put stickers or pictures on it, or just leave it black.

I also like that the interior is so versatile. Moleskine does have a ton on options for the interior. They have ruled pages, graph paper, art sketch pads, planners, and more, but I prefer ruled pages. They are so easy to work with, and I can adapt the inside to fit my needs. For example, sometimes I just use it as a journal. However, right now I’ve drawn monthly calendars in the front, and then flipped the book around and am journaling and writing down my thoughts and prayers from the back. That way my journal and planner are both in the same book. When they meet in the middle, I’ll just get another one and start over.

I also like how sturdy the Moleskine products are. They are not going to easily fall apart on you no matter what you throw at them. I’ve carried mine in purses, diaper bags, and backpacks. I’ve stuffed them full of memorabilia and cards, but the binding does not break. That’s one reason why I’m using them as journals for my kids. I don’t scrapbook, but I love to write, so I’m writing letters to each of my boys in a Moleskine. I’m confident that these books will hold up for years and protect the words I write to my sons.

Finally, I love the paper inside. If you write with a pen very much, you know that the type of paper matters a lot. Some feel smooth and others are coarse. The Moleskine paper is incredibly smooth and very easy to run your pen across. It’s good quality paper that won’t let your writing bleed through easily.

If you’re looking for a good, high quality journal, notebook, planner, or just something for your writing or quiet time needs, I recommend you check out Moleskine’s line of products, especially the Classic Large ruled journal. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. You can find them at book stores, or here on Amazon or here on their website (Tip: Amazon is cheaper!).
