To much Stuff!

Jun 16, 2010

My goal after I done with school next week is to work on simplifying our stuff. We have so much stuff it seems really overwhelming. I’m tired of our stuff taking up my time for relationships. Maintaining it. Cleaning it. Organizing it. I’m tired of it. This summer I hope to go through the house getting rid of the stuff we don’t need and taking it to Goodwill.

I also really need to figure out how to balance work, motherhood, house, and fun all better. Last week, I saw Ethan playing and thought, “I really need to play with him.” But all the stuff on my to-do list, which has been sitting on it for months, kept calling my name. So I finally gave up and got the stuff done, stopping to play with Ethan when he did his, “Mom, I need you,” sound. Is that bad? Probably. But it’s where I’m at right now. At least I recognize it and am going to work this summer at getting stuff pared down so that hopefully it doesn’t get this out of whack again and take so much time away from more important things.

I’m glad we have been so blessed and am thankful for our blessings, but sometimes I envy those with less. How much more time would I have for others if I had less stuff to manage? Probably a lot.

Do you find it hard to study the Bible?

It doesn’t have to be.

Let me help you learn a technique for studying that makes it simple. Join me as we study one chapter each week and memorize two verses of scripture each month.

You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life.
