Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24

One of the hardest things for me to remember as a SAHM (stay at home mom) is that THIS moment is my job. As Ethan “helps” me unload groceries and I’m beginning to get frustrated, I need to step back and remind myself THIS is my job. Teaching him to be helpful, cheerfully is what I should be doing in that moment. Not rushing us through it so I can move on to another thing on my to-do list. THIS moment is the time to teach him while I have it.

I also struggle to remember that time spent with Ethan and Liam is NEVER wasted. When Ethan asks me to “Hold you?” for the hundredth time and I’ve been putting him off, I need to stop to snuggle and hold him for a few minutes. In a few years, I’ll be wishing I had this moment back. THIS moment is the time to love on him while I have it.

But these lessons are so hard for me! I constantly find myself frustrated and trying to move us somewhere else. To get the housework done, to get the errands ran, to go play outside, to…

So my goal is going to be to remember daily that now is the time to teach, now is the time to love, THIS moment is my destination today.
