I am really excited about this new Bible I found for the boys called Candle Bible for Toddlers. First, I love the cute little pictures that illustrate each story. They are simple, yet colorful and engaging.

Second, I really like how each story is short but still manages to get the point across. Many of the books I found for children just give a summary or they are to complex for Ethan and Liam, however, this Bible strikes the perfect balance.

Third, this Bible has an excellent variety of stories. Many just have a few stories from the Old and New Testaments, but this one has over fifty. It even includes the stories of Gideon, Elisha, Peter’s escape from prison and Saul meeting Jesus, along with all the usual popular stories for children.

My favorite part of this Bible is that there are just a few words on each page. I have scoured the book store shelves for the perfect Bible story book that doesn’t have too many words for young children, and I’ve found it in this one. The stories words are enough to keep Ethan’s attention, but not so many that Liam gets bored.

My favorite way to use this book is in conjunction with the Pray and Play Bible I reviewed here. At breakfast each morning I give Ethan the choice of a Bible song or Bible story. If he chooses a song, we use the Pray and Play Bible, but if he chooses a story we use the Candle Bible for Toddlers. He likes this Bible so well he often requests another story several times during breakfast.

If you’re looking for a bible story book for newborn through 4 years old, I would highly recommend the Candle Bible for Toddlers. You can find it on Amazon by clicking on it’s title hyperlinked above or here.
