Quite honestly, I have no idea what to write today. My head is full of my to-do list to get us moved, and my heart is full of last “see ya laters.”

So what have I learned from the last few months here? Two ideas float to the top. First, always give everything you’ve got, even if it’s just a little. Even though I knew this time in Oklahoma City was probably temporary, I threw myself into relationship building and discovering fun. Neither has disappointed. I have been very blessed by the relationships that have deepened over the last several months, and the boys and I have discovered great new parks and a love for the zoo. Both of these I hope to continue to do in the next place we live.

Most importantly, though, I’m am learning that Heaven is home. Our time here is temporary, and ultimately our focus in everything we do needs to be contributing toward that goal. This idea is so hard to remember! It’s so easy to get enchanted with the world’s goals a dreams. Making a name for yourself, being the best in your occupation, getting one more thing (to store later), seeing our children succeed. These are not all bad, but if they are our main focus, then our world can easily fall apart. As Solomon writes,

As [the man] came forth from his mother’s womb, so he will go
again, naked as he came; and he will take away nothing for all his labor which he
can carry in his hand. (Ecclesiastes 5:15 AMP)

These few months have given me a new idea of home and feel like the beginning to a quest to learn more about Heaven. For how can we adequately encourage others, if we’re not familiar with the destination ourselves? To that end, do you have any favorite Bible verses or books about Heaven you’d like to share? I’d love to hear your suggestions and ideas! Please feel free to comment hear or on the Facebook post.

Have a great rest of the week! God Bless,

t.
