Coming Soon! Ephesians…

Sep 28, 2012

I’m so excited you’ve chosen to do the Ephesians study with Over A Cup this fall! Ephesians is one of my favorite books because Paul helps to draw our attention away from the things that don’t matter to the core of the matter. Whenever I get so bogged down in the issues, I find Ephesians is a good place to help me refocus.

The specific details of the study can be found here, but the short version is: we’ll be studying Ephesians for 9 weeks from Oct. 1-Nov. 30th. We’ll use the SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer) method, which should only take about 15 min a day, and as usual we’ll meet in the Over A Cup facebook group* to share our thoughts and insights. I’ve been using the SOAP method the last few weeks in another study, and I love it! I really think you’ll get a lot out of it, too.

If you haven’t joined in yet but would like to, hop on over to Over A Cup’s Facebook Group* linked here or on the “Online Bible Study” tab above. Then click “Join Group.” I’ll add you to the group, and then you can post on the “Getting to Know…” each other document so we can learn a little about you before the study on Monday. While you’re there, read on through others posts. You’ll find we come from all around the world and all walks of life. If you’re eager to study with and get to know a group of women** hungry to know God more, you’ve found it!

So you’ve joined the group, now what?

If you’re already a part of the group*, go ahead and post on the “Getting to Know…” document, too. This will give me a head count of who all is doing the study this time, and help us all get to know each other better since our group is getting more diverse and adding new faces. Yeah!

On Monday, October, 1st we’ll begin the study together. I’ll have pictures posted in the photo album in the Facebook group that have our verses for each day on them. To help us keep each other accountable and to learn from each other, we’ll comment on the picture each day. Your comment can be as simple as “QT- Done!,” or if you like, you could post part or all of you S.O.A.P. for the day.

If you’re the first person to post one day, simply go into that week’s photo album and comment on that day’s photo. This will bring the photo to the front page where everyone can see it and comment on it easily.

There will also be “Prayer Request” photos posted each week. If you have a prayer request, please feel free to comment on that photo to share your request with the group. Since the group is now closed, you’re posts will only be seen by the group, so you are safe to share whatever is on your heart.

Below you’ll find our readings for the whole twelve weeks. I also have a document posted on our facebook page if you would like to print it off.

Just a few more days to go!!!

God Bless,

t.

*Note: There is a difference between the Facebook “Group” and the “Page.” The group is reserved for the online Bible studies so only those in the group can see the posts, while the page is used for everything else Over A Cup related. If you don’t see “Over A Cup” on your Facebook side bar under “Groups,” then you’ve probably just liked the page and need to follow the steps above to become part of the Online Bible Study Group. Sorry for any confusion!

**Men are welcome, too! But none of you have joined us yet : )
