Jeremy and the boys Fall 2011

Cherished…

Just reading this word brings up the warm feelings associated with it and two thoughts to mind. The look in my husband’s eyes on a day to day basis makes me feel cherished. Even though we’ve been through a lot and have been married for 11 years now, he still looks at me like he did when we first met. Cherished.

The first time I held my two boys in the hospital. Those mental pictures speak cherished to me. After so much anticipation and hard work, they were finally here to love on and to behold. Cherished.

You pretend to love someone or something, but cherishing them cannot be manufactured. It comes in a look, in a touch, and a way of being with someone that lets them know by actions that they are someone special. Someone you’d do anything for. Cherished.

Such truth in those words! To cherish is a heart thing … a way of looking at someone … a way of touching someone … a way of listening to someone. This is not something I can do, but as I live in our Lord, he does that in and through me. Thank you for these words of wisdom!
