Beautiful…
Here the buildings created a kind of wonder. They sparkled in the sun light and reflected the mass of clouds passing over the blue sky in their many diamond like windows. They spoke of time, and influence, and money. Someone had put a lot of thought into their designs and created works of art.
Bucharest did the opposite. The Communism style buildings soaked all the beauty around up like a sponge and gave nothing back. They spoke of speed and functionality. The drab grey concrete sides made one sad just to drive by, which was a loss because the country side surrounding the city was so beautiful. The people were inspiring as Sarah heard their stories of survival. But the city scrape, at least the real city scape where real people lived, reflected none of that beauty.
Sure she could stay here…
Fiction Friday is for me to have fun and get back in the habit of writing fiction. I hope you enjoy it! To check out the previous installments of this story click here. The first one is at the bottom.
I’m using the Gypsy Mama’s Friday prompts to get me started. Every Friday writers join together at LisaJoBaker.com for Five Minute Friday. One word, five minutes, no editing, and no back tracking. Come join the fun!
Very curious where the “here” is and this post makes me want to see the buildings you describe!
I’m intrigued by your writing! You give a great description of the contrasts. Love it! Visiting from Five Minute Friday. Blessings to you!

Oooh! I like this. I’ve never really considered writing a fictional entry for the Five Minute Friday posting. What a super idea. I’ll have to try it the next time my mind turns up blank for the prompt.
My entry for today is: http://wp.me/pBKyJ-pI
Thank you for your encouragement, ladies! After writing non-fiction for so long, your words mean a lot!
I just re-read this and it still intrigues me. I’m a person who derives great meaning from “place,” so an entry like this really hits me deep. It doesn’t matter if it’s where I’m currently living, a place I’ve lived in the past, or a place I’m just visiting; I really get some kind of “vibe” from places.
