Foggy Days

May 18, 2010

Do you ever have those moments when you feel far from God? Or like there’s something standing between you and him? I’m in one of those fogs right now. I do my quiet time, and it’s like nothing gets through, or at least very little. Those aha ha moments when his word is crystal clear are a distant memory.

I have learned that sometimes these moments are simply due to my feelings. God is as close as he ever was, and I just need to wait out the fog because it is not reality. Other times, they are due to my moving inch by inch away till I begin to feel the strain in our relationship. Then others are that God moved and is waiting on me to notice and follow.

I think is time is a little of the first and a lot of the last. I have been in a fog for a few weeks, Jeremy can attest to that! But, due to my Bible opening to Isaiah 50:4-11 every morning, I think he’s waiting for me to follow him, too.

So here I am, following. Running back toward him, so I can see clearly again.
