“One, two, three, four count my blessings! One, two, three, four count my blessings!” I love this song by Hawk Nelson called “Thank God for Something.” Whenever my family is struggling, I like to put this song on and play it loud. It’s a great reminder of how important it is to count our blessings.
When I was little my Mom had us memorize many, many verses, and I hated it. I told her when I grew up, I wasn’t going to do it and for years I didn’t. It wasn’t until several years ago, when those verses I’d memorized as a child would come back to me in moments when I needed them, I realized the value of memorizing God’s Word.
Wise for Salvation by Christie Thomas is a devotional book for ages 1-6. It’s not just a Bible storybook, though it does have many, many Bible stories in it. Instead, it looks at a single Bible story for five days and allows your kids to interact with that story in a variety of ways. Love!
